Waste-d on C4 Belts

Let's be real...This wouldn't truly be an "Atlanta-based" fashion blog without a post on the C4 Belts: Choose your color, choose your cause.
Constituted by some of the ATL city boy's, C4 is filling the cities niche for a cool, contemporary and cutting-edge take on the modern, middle accessory.
With 20 belts, and 20 buckles-over 400 combos are possible. As if things could get any sweeter, the belts are 100% environmentally-friendly....AND a portion of the proceeds go to a charity of your choosing.
With celebs like Nappy Roots, Gorilla Zoe, and TK n Ca$h rocking the C4, shop locally and invest in the center component.
Sold at stores like Bill Hallman, West Paces Smith Ace Hardware, Phat Gear, Heliotrope and Spoiled Rotten Boutique (and online at http://www.c4belts.com/)-it's time to get wasted on something other than the Goose- C4 Belts.

Red-bottom heels and handbags

There is nothing I love more than kicking up a red-bottom heel. This prestigious accent is a herald in any girls wardrobe-and if you don't know what I am talking about by now we have some serious problems. Why of course I am referring to none other than the celebrated Christian Louboutin statement (and staple) shoe.

As if this fashion fulfillment couldn't get any more sophisticated, Louboutin has launched a coordinating handbag collection-correlating to the pumps that only the well-heeled can rocked.

Investments: Let's talk about them. As I was looking to purchase my most recent Chanel bag, dropping several g's in a bad economy seemed chancy. But, it wasn't my sales lady who convinced me (it never is, you either fall in love or you don't) but a fellow shopper in the cozy boutique. She told me, "Unlike the economy or stock market, these bags never lose value, they only gain it," which is one of the realest statements I have ever heard. And it's true...these couturier pieces are only rising in price-and value. So you might as well invest while it's still tolerable.

With the Louboutin bags ranging from $775 to $2900, what is more heeling than a matching red-bottom and clutch?

Some of my fav's from the newest collection. Hope everyone is taking advantage of this short and sweet week- I know I am. Check @soleofthesouth twitter later and maybe I'll let yall in on where I am indulging this week. Cheers, to you dolls -I know I already have at breakfast this morning (Rosé and LOW CAL orange-juice). X0x0

Renovation vs. Innovation: The Custom Suit

Renovation vs. Innovation...Most people prefer to buy something, then renovate it. Others prefer to build something ground up (I prefer the latter). Although this relates to all indulgences in life (homes, your body, etc.) this case is especially true when it comes to a custom-made suit for the beaouxs.

As I have said before, I judge all men on a Wall Street Standard. Thus there is nothing I crave more (work-week couture wise) than a perfectly-tailored, freshly pressed suit on a potential.Paired with the audacious tie (Hermes orange...you can NEVER go wrong)the courageous sock (yes boys, we do look at your socks)and the classic Italian shoe and boom, I'm (almost) sold.

Although I was not in attendance for this event last week, the legendary Scottish merchants Holland & Sherry made a special appearance at The Mansion on Peachtree for an intimate group.Fitting the consuetude suits, which are made from Vicuna Aymara (a rare camelid species that inhabit the high alpine of the Andean region), Holland & Sherry continue to supply prestigious tailors and luxury brands with the finest cloth (since its conception over 170 years ago).

As the pinnacle of British clothing hand work and detailing, Holland & Sherry offer the ace of raw materials to produce the most exquisite of ensembles. After five years in the making, Holland & Sherry has woven enough material to suit your needs.

Forget the Gucci suit and Eton dress shirt, Holland & Sherry take the luxury lifestyle to the next level. With suits costing almost $4,000 a yard (about $50,000 total) my suggestion: if you see a swain sporting a suit from Holland & Sherry, the next stint would be stake your stratum. Salutations to a short week dolls.

2012 SCAD Seen Gala: Forthcoming Fashionistas

Four words to describe the 2012 SCAD Seen Gala: Models, bottles, tables, labels. To say the "who's who" of Atlanta was in attendance last night is certainly an understatement. Bumping elbows with Andre Leon Talley of Vogue, Isabel and Ruben Toledo, Marcus Jackson, David Goodrowe, Calvin Fong (and of course the fab Modern Luxury crew)-to name a few- was quite a galvanize experience.

Promulgating the works of 20 SCAD seniors, the forthcoming fashionistas of Atlanta debuted their impeccable works to the paramount players in the fashion and art industry. A round of applause is well deserved to all the students.

The apex of the show (for me) was Megan Moore. I was ready to A) Open my checkbook and buy everything she showcased and B) Strip down and try it all on immediately(in private-obvi). Her clean lines, conservative yet décolleté cuts and tailored take on fashion is just what the Atlanta scene is craving.

Of course the open-bar influence sparked some bidding wars which resulted in a dare to defy. Luckily, Stephanie Davis Smith was the front-runner, and I hope she was being serious about hanging this in her office. (Congrats on the win Steph! :))

In other Atl fashion gossip- Don't forget that Lilly Pulitzer opens today at Phipps. You may want to scoot over there in anticipation of the holiday weekend. I know I'll be cavorting at the Club (PDC-thanks Brantley-or Sea Island) this weekend, and what is more germane than a Lilly staple? Libations and Lilly...so vogue. Now that is something to cheers about.

Gala Giddy's

Just a short and sweet post to share my excitement for the SCAD Seen Gala tonight! With fashion designer Isabel and artist Ruben Toledo as this year's honorary chairs, fashion will be flowing.

Isabel is best known for designing Michelle Obama’s presidential inauguration ensemble and Ruben is a world-renowned fashion illustrator. (Nordstrom and Louis Vuitton seek his work for exclusive projects.) The couple recently collaborated on a book, “Roots of Style: Weaving Together Life, Love, and Fashion.”

Get ready for the dish on tomorrow's blog, which will place emphasis on toddies, bidding, attendees and the up-and-coming in the industry. Hope you wore the Louboutins to work today, because you know the who's who will be judging tonight. Cheers!

Facial Frequence: The MOST important accessory

Practice what you preach. I look down contemptuously on people who reiterate how often they work out, hit the gym, diet, run marathons, train for marathons...when it's obvi you don't. Tinsley Mortimer said it best, "Your most important accessory is your face and your hair." Hence why I have a daily routine that consists of: running at least four miles a day (motivation: a hot guy, a crunk playlist and cool kicks), applying latisse to my eyelashes, and cleansing, toning and moisturizing my face (we are just talking beauty rituals).
Since I was a young girl, my Mother taught me the importance of skin care. Thus Mom has always frequented our esthetician Peggy at American Face and Body in Roswell. Mother is so obsessed with anti-aging that at age 14, I started getting facials on the reg.

So today I went to see Peggy and I discovered a revolution that gives Botox and face lifts a run for its money...Facial Toning. This Compu-Lift not only slows the aging process, but when started early enough may delay or totally eliminate the need for more invasive treatments (aka going under the knife). This three-step process first stimulates lymph and blood circulation, oxgenates the skin and increases cullular turnover. Phase two consists of restoring initial tonus to muscles and stimulating the fibroblasts (collagen producers). Lastly, in phase three, a specially formulated nutritive antioxidant gel is used to provide vital nutrients essential to the production of elastin and collagen.

After my first treatment today, I already booked my next six. Sure you can purchase the $1,000 Chanel boots, but if your face is busted...then it's killer. I highly recommend investing in monthly facials and facial toning. These treatments range from $100-$130, and trust me, there is no outfit that can make you look better than facial toning can make you feel. Call Peggy at 770.552.6656 and set up an appt ASAP (She is one of the few people in Atlanta who offer this treatment)!

After all, what guy would chose Chanel boots over a pretty face and banging bod? ( I mean I can name a few, but they are def not hubby material.) And we all know we are on the search for the 5 karat...Talk about investments (in more way than one).

Big fashion event and interview tomorrow loves! Check the blog Wednesday for a few hints because I'm dying to let the gossip slip...XXoo
PS Dolls-Suzanne Somers is the spokeswoman for facial toning...so you know it is that good. Cheers.

Now In: Kelly Wearstler

The luxury lifestyle comes in many forms: foreign whips, renowned hotels, PJ's...etc- you catch my drift. But in Kelly Wearstler's case, indulgence and opulence is a way of life.
This kelly-of-all-trades made a name for herself by first prevailing in interior design. She primed the delineation experience for acclaimed resorts and hotels around the world. Now she is preponderating the fashion world with the launch of her ready-to-wear and accessory collections.
Debuting at Bergdorf's, Neimans, Net-A-Porter, and her flagship store in LA, Wearstler has grabbed fashion by its horns, and she isn't letting go. Check this chick out at kellywearstler.com because I have found a new obsession.
Hope everyone is (almost) fully recovered from a weekend of rampant rendezvousing. All I can say is thank goodness we get a long weekend this weekend. In that case......cheers to...America. XXoo

Prestigue Platform: Doggie's on the Catwalk 2012

Canines, couture and catwalks...a trio of confabulations that always make for a fab Friday night...mixed with the city's cynosures and Voli Vodka and va la....perfection. The 2012 Doggie's on the Catwalk hosted by the preeminent Vincent Martinez in conjunction with Tootsies,Bill Hallman, Voli Vodka and Dennis Dean Catering entertained the trendsetters of the Atl.By revamping Room and Board on the Westside from its contemporary comforts to a playground for the popular, ladies and gents were dressed to impress. (Aka my bestie Courtney Foster in Chanel.) After a couple of cocktails at the VIP reception, we found ourselves posted on a modish davenport.
With civic celebs like Monica Pearson, April Trigg, Patty Dicky, Stephanie Davis Smith and Real Housewife of Atlanta and model Cynthia Bailey, the ladies and their beaouxs (and dogs) worked the runway in everything from made-to-measure midriff tops, to off-the-peg pants to full-length formal gowns.
Jackson Ratcliffe and the Modern Luxury crew looking fab After mixing and mingling, we headed to Cynthia and Peter's Bar One. With top-shelf liquors and gustatory eats, Peter and Cynthia's hospitality and generosity to us was more than admirable. (Thank you both for a wonderful night!) A few toddies later, we found ourselves back in Buckhead. Thankfully I popped a few Advil before passing out, because the next day was Rebecca's 24th birthday. Posting at the pool, traipsing to the Ivy for a mid-day mimosa and before we knew it we were at Blue Ridge Grill in Vinings to celebrate.
Bar One
Cynthia looking fab What a weekend, dolls. After two days straights of kicking up (designer-obvi) heels, I'm dying to know who did what (and with whom) this weekend. FYI-- calumny is chronicle.
Wishing everyone a successful week. Remember:: time is money, and we all want a (new) Rolex. Cheers.
